School Age (4-17 yrs) Dance Classes


Contemporary/Lyrical/Modern

Lyrical Jazz is an elegant combination of Jazz, Ballet, Modern and Contemporary styles performed with interpretation of song lyrics or a story idea and the use of emotional execution. Students are required to be enrolled in one ballet class. Age 8 and up.

 


Ballet

Each dance position, sequence, exercise and combination will be taught with correct technique to form a solid foundation for the student. Benefits include grace, elegance, poise, coordination, strength, confidence, and joy. Ballet is the foundation for all dance forms, therefore the most important to enhance all other dance styles.

 


Hip Hop

A fun and exciting form of dance combining street dancing and isolation funk techniques. Classes are taught using the most popular music. Hip-Hop is a part of our culture and students love it! Age 6 and up. High ethical standards are employed by avoiding explicit lyrics, costumes and inappropriate movements.

 


Acrobatics & Tumbling

A fun and exciting form of dance combining street dancing and isolation funk techniques. Classes are taught using the most popular music. Hip-Hop is a part of our culture and students love it! Age 6 and up. High ethical standards are employed by avoiding explicit lyrics, costumes and inappropriate movements.

 


Pre-Pointe & Pointe

Pre-Pointe, a pre-requisite for Pointe, is offered for intermediate students ages 10 & up to develop the strength and technique required for Pointe. Pre-Pointe is a conditioning class and does not perform in the recital. To qualify for the Pointe class, students must be at the intermediate or advanced levels. Pointe is an extension of training and an essential element of the classical ballet technique for ages 12 & up. Pre-Pointe or Pointe are included with ballet class.

 


Tap

Up-to-date Funky Street Rhythm and Showy Broadway, Buck and Wing styles are professionally taught. Traveling sequences and exciting combinations inspire the joy of dance and performance.

 


Tap/Jazz

Ages 6-8
This exciting combination class gives students the opportunity to learn both Tap and Jazz styles. Strength and coordination is greatly improved with the use of the upper and lower body. Both styles are performed individually in the year-end recital.

 


Pageant Training

Students will learn how to walk in an evening gown and enhance public speaking and interview skills. Students in our program have consistently won pageant titles in our 12 years of operation. A talent routine can also be scheduled with private lessons.

 


Father-Daughter Dance

Students and their fathers meet for a 12-week session beginning in February for 45 minutes to learn a customized dance honoring the special relationship between fathers and their daughters with dance. Each dad has a chance to show his unique dance skills. A fun and entertaining experience!

 


Team Production Number

The production number is an excellent performance opportunity. This experience is designed to be a pleasant opportunity for goal setting and personal achievement through a variety of dance styles, as well as greatly improving stage presentation and developing team spirit. The students will learn an exciting fulllength dance company piece using choreographic techniques, formations and lifts. This will be our closing number for the year end performance.
